Its been three years since I was at this school. Such amazing times I had. I remember it all like it was yesterday. Brings back so many memories when I see all the pictures and things.

I just wanted to say thank you for everything you did for us and for the kids that are there now.

Today, my child has gone on the eagerly awaited Kingswood trip. I appreciate your policy is 'no news is good news'. However, now that we have a school website, I wonder if you would consider using it to communicate to parents about the trips their children are on. At the very least, to know that they all got there safely (I hope and presume that they did!) and also perhaps to update parents about expected times of arrival home etc would be useful, especially as on this trip they are expected home after normal school hours. Just a thought...........?!

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately we only have a very small amount of time dedicated to maintaining the website (i.e. once per week) and therefore it wouldn't be possible to publish this 'live' information. However, the office staff at the school maintain regular links with the staff who are on residential trips of this nature, therefore calling the office is still the best way to establish return times etc.

Hi I have just been looking at your wonderful website, its so informative and colourful. A real credit to the staff who work on the website and all the children and staff within the school.

Just spent some time looking through the website. It has the potential to be very informative but there are still lots of blanks to fill in. I appreciate the time it takes but have you thought of asking if any parents could help out. I know there is alot of computer expertise out there.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our website. We appreciate your feedback, however it would be helpful to know which specific areas you feel lack information. Our next job is to upload more photos and develop the individual class pages. If you have some additional ideas, please don't hesitate to let us know.

I attended the school from 1978 to 1984, lovely balmy summer afternoons on the playing fields behind what was the national film archive

I was born in the village and attended the old girls school from 1951 to 1957. It is nice to see that the old boys school is still being maintained and is still well attended.

Just a quick note to say well done with the Doctor Bike day and breakfast. Both of my children enjoyed riding to school and having their breakfast with their friends before school. Hopefully this is something that can happen again!! Thank you.

As a parent currently looking at schools in the area for my daughter to attend I have to say your web site is very up to date and informative. This has been particularly helpful for me as I am currently overseas and I am unable to visit in person. Well done.

It is wonderful to hear such positive news about our website, and to find out that it is viewed from overseas too. We are pleased that you found the site informative, however if you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you.

An interesting website,but not updated regularly enough.

~~~ACS Reply~~~
Thank you for your comments. As a school we would love to have more funding to dedicate to the website maintenance and development. Unfortunately we are limited to using a free website service and therefore some of the facilities are limited. For example, to upload just one photograph requires approximately 5-10 minutes work (each photo needs to be re-sized). It is hoped that further time will be spent on the website from September.
We do update the newsletter (Friday Flyer) page each week. It would be useful to have specific feedback about areas you feel should be updated more frequently. Thank you.
Congratulations on the introduction of the school dinners! It is a fantastic achievement, especially having to manage the children's different dietary requirements on a daily basis! I wonder however, will the children have the opportunity to give some constructive feedback on what they think of the menus etc? And secondly, will the menus be changing at all or will this 3 week rota remain constant? Many thanks.
Thank you for the positive feedback. To answer your first question, we are actually issuing questionnaires to parents and children this week - please see Friday Flyer (Issue 30 - 09.05.08). The menu has recently changed slightly and will remain on a 3 week rotation until further notice.
Hi.
This doesn't mean anything to this website, however I wanted tell you how much the school means to me. I used to go to this school, but unfortunately I had to move in year 5 (I am 15 now).
I just wanted to say that this school has developed a lot since I was a student there which is really good, and it's also great to see how many of the activities that I enjoyed there still remain.
I had so much fun and have so many memories from there so I would like to say thank you for a great education.
A good start to an overdue website. Would it be an idea for the classes to take it in turns to have a page on the website? Something that they could view from their own PC to show family members? Just an idea for involving them in showing their school off?? Well done to you all.
Thank you for your suggestion. Last year each class had their own separate page with information and photos which we intend to repeat this year. Now that we are through the first half term we have plenty of work and displays that can be photographed and shown on the site. This will be shown gradually over the next few weeks. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback.
Think it looks really good but you should put the teachers photos on next to their names and put more photgraphs of the school. Not just on the website but also on the prospectus.
Great start to building the site and it already has important information easily accessible. I particularly like the class updates showing what they have been doing. Well done!
Very nice to have all the info infront of me for a change. You should also have on the Area page the correct homework for each corresponding class for that day so that the children can not get away with the "I dont have any homework" theory?
Thank you for your comments and suggestions. We are thinking about putting class homework on the website in the future, when our website is more firmly established.
Potentially a great website. It is lovely to be able to obtain all the info I need online.It would be great if the Friday Flyer was updated more frequently. I viewed the website on 2nd March and the most recent Friday Flyer was 9th Feb issue 20. - having said that I appriciate this is a new faciltiy and just one more job for an already busy office, Keep up the good work!
We have endeavoured to keep the Friday Flyer page updated. The Friday Flyer in future will go on the website the day it is produced unless we experience technical difficulties or encounter any other unforseen circumstances. Thank you for your comments and appreciation.
Following last week's FF I thought I'd checkout the site. It is well constructed and I look forward to seeing the blanks been filled in. I've put it in my favourites!
