Our Healthy School |
Aston Clinton School strives to be a healthy school. After several years of hard work and committment from our staff, parents, governors and pupils we were delighted to be awarded 'Healthy Schools' status in July 2007. See our Photo Gallery page for more information.
We have achieved this status through the successful introduction of a number of initiatives and policies which promote a balanced and achievable approach to health and wellbeing.

In addition to these key initiatives/policies, the school has it's own elected school council which enables the children to be involved in decision making for the future of the school. Alongside our anti-bullying & behaviour policy we run 'peer mediation' programmes for our upper-junior pupils, which empowers the children to resolve conflicts within the school environment.
We offer a range of extra curricular activities for the children, many of which have a direct impact on their wellbeing i.e. short tennis, netball, karate, yoga bugs, cross country, athletics, tag rugby, cookery and gardening.
We have also invested in:
- A new sound-field system throughout the school, making it easier for children with hearing impairments and all children to hear the teacher during lessons, assemblies etc.
- A new (lower) ceiling in the school hall which has significantly improved the acoustics during lunchtime, making this a pleasant dining experience.
- A number of items of playground equipment including bats, balls, goal-posts, games tables, skipping ropes etc. We also have age-appropriate climbing frames within both infant and junior playgrounds.
- A staff wellbeing programme where staff can provide confidential feedback on how they feel, and what improvements the school can make to ensure its workforce is a healthy one.
