School History

Our current school buildings were opened in 1973, but education has played an important part in the life of Aston Clinton since the Rothschilds first opened a school here for children of the area, almost 150 years ago. Today we are fortunate to have a modern well-equipped school with highly professional staff determined to provide a first rate primary foundation for each and every child in our care.

Our badge includes the Rothschild five arrows pointing upwards because it was the Rothschilds who initially built two schools in Aston Clinton. We still use the Victorian Clock School building (pictured below), built by the Church of England, but sadly the original Rothschild schools were demolished. When our school took up its new buildings it became a Local Education Authority school, catering for children from Rising 5 to 11+.

The five arrows in the badge not only remind us of our historical link with the Rothschilds, they also show that we are aiming upwards and outwards, to encourage every child to achieve their personal best.
